Wrekon is the artistic partnership between two sculptors from notorious Mutoid Waste collective – Debs Wrekon and Strapper. They have worked largely under their own name since the end of the last millennium.
Regulars on the UK festival circuit Wrekon create large scale pieces using scrap metal, discarded plastic and other found materials; favouring figurative subjects – especially animals.
This year they return to the UFG with more members of their mutated menagerie – “The Phoenix – Rising from the (Tr)Ashes” and “Dumpo – An Elephant Dancing with Death”.Wrekon’s artwork has been exhibited in a diverse range of environments – festivals, galleries, squats, museums, parks, city centres, performances; not only in the UK but also in Italy, Ireland, Belgium, Japan and Australia.
Debs Wrekon is also the creative force behind this year’s new venue – the Blind Tiger.
